Signs of Summer!

Notice the out of control tall-grass prairie in the yard from the over 8 inches of rain in April!

Maybe it's not officially here, but we've had a few days that actually feel like summer. Just some fun shots on a nice, sunny afternoon. Giz showing off his "summer cut." I know, it always looks like a chop shop haircut that first week or so, but he's got a lot of extra skin, and he can't stand too long on the table, so we just get the necessary fur off, and he's good to go. I love watching him after his summer cut, because he runs around and acts so much like a puppy.
Uh-oh, this is a new development in the last couple of weeks... Breezy and Darby pairing up as new BFF. Any way you slice it, this can only mean Double Trouble!!
And Syd, looking oh-so sweet from the smaller dog yard, watching the birds land on top of the privacy fence. It's almost impossible to see any resemblance in these photos to the cell phone eating creature from last week! :-)

Just Chillin' with the Crew

It's been an interesting week. Basically stuck at home, working from home, and not able to do much of anything, I've seen a different side of my dogs and our usual routine. I think my everyday life is so busy, I rarely even sit down during the time I'm at home. With so many paws to keep track of, it's a non-stop "I want in, I want out, Feed me, Fill the water bowl, She stole my toy" type activities. Bark, bark, wrestle, wrestle.

But this week, it's like a time out. The dogs are calm, and they spend most of the day laying around like speed bumps in various places around the house. When they are awake and moving around, there is no frenzy, no worry that someone might miss out on something fun.

It really makes me realize that things really need to change around here. It's time to re-prioritize and direct our time and energy to things that really matter. Perhaps the last couple of weeks are a blessing in disguise?

A Family Blog!

I realized today that Hawk has a Vallhund-specific blog to chronicle his activities (and more recently his new baby boy!), and Syd has a blog where I journal her progress and activities. But we don't really have a "family blog" where life in general is up for discussion. So, here it is, the general family blog for Hurrikane Cardigans (and Swedish Vallhund, Weimaraner, GSP/Lab mix, Tabby, and Cockatoo). Enjoy!
